How to get users to leave reviews for your Chrome extension?
User GrowthExtension Ranking
I've noticed that the number of reviews helps Chrome extensions rank, so how can I get users to rate my Chrome extension?
Answer
If your extension delivers good quality but still has very few reviews, you can encourage users to leave feedback by timing your requests strategically:
Start by identifying the core flow where your extension solves a user's problem. After the user completes that task for the first time, display a pop-up asking them to leave a review. This way, you catch them at the moment when they just experienced value.
Some tips for you:
- Choose the right timing - Don't wait too long. Some developers set the pop-up to appear 3 days after installation, but many users may not even use the extension by then. Trigger it right after the first successful use.
- Avoid over-prompting - If a user ignores the first prompt, it usually means they're not ready to leave a review. Showing the pop-up too often can frustrate users and even result in negative reviews.
