01 / THE BOTTLENECK
A genuinely good tool that almost nobody could find.
Mobile View previews any website on iPhone, Android and tablet screens, up to five devices side by side. In mid-June 2026 it had 56 users and sat at #8 in Chrome Web Store search for "mobile simulator", behind established competitors with tens of thousands of users each.
The product was ready, but the listing was not ready to be found. A user typing "mobile simulator" into store search would not scroll far enough to reach it at #8.

02 / WHAT THE AUDIT FLAGGED
The gap sat in the listing copy, not the product.
The developer's first Ranking Audit in Extension Ranker benchmarked Mobile View against the 30 extensions competing for "mobile simulator" and put the gap in numbers. Nine keywords went under daily tracking, so every later change would get a verdict within days on all of them.

RANKING AUDIT · MOBILE SIMULATOR
Rebuild the summary and description so all nine tracked keywords are woven in.
- Keep the product name. It already carries the keyword.
- Open the summary with "mobile simulator".
- Strengthen the description so it covers all nine keywords.
THE DECISION
One rewrite, aimed at the copy searchers actually see. Slow plays like the Featured badge could wait.
03 / WHAT CHANGED PUBLICLY
v2.0.0 shipped a summary that leads with the job.
A July 15 store snapshot caught the rewritten v2.0.0 listing. The old summary led with features. The new one opens with "Mobile simulator" and folds in adjacent intent like "mobile view" and "responsive design".

04 / THE OBSERVED OUTCOME
Every tracked keyword moved, and users followed.
"mobile simulator" had already edged from #8 to #6 before the rewrite. After it, the keyword held the top 5 and touched #3 on August 10. "mobile view" climbed from #10 to #2 and stayed. All nine tracked keywords sit above where they started.
Over the same window, public users grew from 56 in mid-June to 5,000+ by August 22, and reviews grew from 2 to 26 at a 5.0 rating. Growth was already underway before the rewrite, so the listing change is one part of the sequence, not the whole explanation.

The Chrome Web Store reports rounded user counts above 1,000, which is why the curve steps from 1,000 to 2,000 to 5,000.
Evidence boundary: Rank movement, listing changes and user growth are verified separately. The sequence supports the workflow's contribution; it does not isolate a single cause.
