01 / THE BOTTLENECK
The product spoke clearly. The original title did not.
StockGlow shows live Indian stock prices and charts on any webpage. But its original title, "StockGlow by Upstox", asked store search to infer that job from a brand name.
That created a simple mismatch: people searched in functional language, while the listing led with identity alone.
WHAT PEOPLE SEARCHED
stocks · stock prices · stock charts
Clear, functional language that describes the job.
WHAT THE TITLE SAID
StockGlow by Upstox
A strong brand signal without a functional explanation.
02 / WHAT THE AUDIT FLAGGED
Fix the two lines searchers see before rewriting everything.
A July 1 Ranking Audit on "stocks", a keyword with 541,000+ monthly searches, isolated the gap. The title had a 0% keyword match and the summary missed the complete term, while the description was already close to the top 3 benchmark.

RANKING AUDIT · STOCKS
Make the product's job explicit where search intent is strongest.
- Keep the StockGlow and Upstox brand.
- Add the complete functional language to the title.
- Align the short summary before touching the full description.
THE DECISION
Keep the brand. Add the job: live stock prices and charts.
03 / WHAT CHANGED PUBLICLY
The listing moved from brand-first to job-first.
A July 7 store snapshot detected the new listing, six days after the audit. The brand stayed intact; the title and summary now explain the product in the language searchers already use.

04 / THE OBSERVED OUTCOME
Users doubled as the renamed listing entered top-five searches.
StockGlow moved from the store's 5,000-user bucket on July 6 to 10,000 on August 2. Because the store rounds counts at this scale, the exact growth rate is not available, but the four-week window is public and verifiable.
"stock", "stock prices" and "live prices" entered tracking after the rename, so they are current-position evidence rather than before-and-after proof. All three were already in the top 5 when tracking began, and they have climbed since. On "stocks" itself, a 541k-per-month giant, StockGlow holds page-one territory. A follow-up audit in August found little left to fix.

The Chrome Web Store reports rounded user counts, which is why the curve moves in whole buckets.
Evidence boundary: The sequence supports Extension Ranker's contribution to a clearer listing and stronger visibility. It does not isolate how much of the user growth came from the listing change versus product, brand, releases, or other channels.
