Ranking Tracker Overview

Ranking Tracker is a dedicated module designed to help you closely monitor your extension's search performance for your most valuable target keywords.

Once you identify high-potential keywords using Keywords Explorer or Keyword Insights, you can add them to the Ranking Tracker to record day-by-day rank changes, helping you assess exactly how well your optimization efforts are paying off.

Tracker Overview Tab

The Overview tab displays a high-level summary of your tracked keywords.

  • Keywords limit: Displays the number of keywords you are currently tracking versus your allowed limit.
  • Language Distribution: See how your tracked keywords are distributed across different languages, complete with the percentage share and the average rank for each language market. This is incredibly helpful when running international/multilingual SEO strategies.

Ranks List Tab

The Ranks List tab gives you a detailed breakdown of every keyword you are tracking for the selected extension.

For each keyword, you will see:

  • Current Rank: Where your extension currently stands in the Chrome Web Store search results (e.g., #4, #12, or 30+).
  • Rank Change: A clear indicator showing if your rank has moved up or down compared to the start of your selected time range.
  • Trend Sparkline: A miniature chart showing the visual trajectory of your rank over time, allowing you to spot at a glance whether a keyword's ranking is stable, climbing, or dropping.

Keyword Detail & Event Tracking

By clicking on a specific keyword, you enter its Keyword Detail page, which features an interactive and comprehensive Ranking Trend chart.

Show Events (Version Impact)

One of the most powerful features of the Ranking Tracker is the Show Events toggle. When enabled, Extension Ranker maps your extension's Version Updates / Release Dates directly onto the ranking timeline chart.

This makes it exceptionally easy to correlate a sudden drop or spike in rankings with a specific extension update. Did your latest manifest update affect SEO? Did adding keywords to your description in version 2.1.0 improve your rank? The event markers help you scientifically validate your CWS optimization hypotheses.
